PTCL Group and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) have expanded their women empowerment initiative, Ba-Ikhtiar, at GITEX Global 2025 to reach over 2,300 women entrepreneurs across 23 flood-affected cities in Pakistan. Originally piloted in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the program equips underprivileged women with digital literacy, financial management, and vocational skills such as stitching, pottery, handicrafts, food preservation, and organic cosmetics. Through PTCL’s digital infrastructure and PPAF’s community networks, participants gain access to tools and platforms to build sustainable livelihoods and advance social mobility.
Hatem Bamatraf, PTCL’s President and Group CEO, emphasized the initiative as a flagship program setting new benchmarks for sustainable social empowerment. PPAF CEO Nadir Gul Barech highlighted the partnership’s transformative impact, combining social development with digital innovation to enable women’s economic self-reliance.
The Ba-Ikhtiar initiative reflects a shared vision for a digitally inclusive Pakistan, empowering women through knowledge and technology. It recently featured Pakistan’s first AI-powered fashion show, showcasing women’s creativity on a global platform and demonstrating how technology can drive social change. As Ba-Ikhtiar scales up, it aims to foster resilience and economic independence for thousands more women across Pakistan.
