The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is set to run from November 5th to 16th, 2025, at the Expo Centre Sharjah. This year’s theme, “Between You and a Book,” invites a global conversation about the profound connection between readers and literature, highlighting the diverse motivations behind reading, from academic study to personal enrichment and imagination.
Thousands of authors, renowned publishers, translators, and visitors from around the world are expected to participate. The event will include panel discussions, creative workshops, theatrical performances, and book signings led by prominent thinkers and cultural figures.
The Republic of Greece is the official Guest of Honour, bringing a rich program of edutainment that celebrates its heritage as the birthplace of Hellenic civilisation. Greek literary works, historic documents, rare manuscripts, and intellectual debates will deepen cultural ties and knowledge exchange.
Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), emphasized the fair’s vital role as a global platform positioning Arab culture at the heart of world knowledge creation. The event fosters public awareness, advances creative industries, and supports a knowledge-based economy.
Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, noted that SIBF has evolved into a comprehensive knowledge industry, attracting over two million visitors annually and reinforcing Sharjah and the UAE’s status as beacons of creativity, knowledge, and innovation.
