The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) reminds all UAE businesses, including Corporate Taxable Persons and exempt entities, of the upcoming UAE Corporate Tax filing deadline 2025 to avoid penalties. Under UAE federal tax law, all companies must submit their corporate tax returns or annual declarations within nine months from the end of their financial year or tax period.
Businesses are also required to settle any due corporate tax liabilities within this nine-month period to avoid late filing and payment fines. It is advisable for companies to file early to prevent delays, as last-minute electronic payments may not process instantly, potentially incurring penalties.
Through the EmaraTax digital platform, available 24/7, businesses can verify their tax periods and deadlines. For example, companies with a financial year ending December 31, 2024, can start filing immediately. Payments should be completed by September 30, 2025, allowing adequate processing time.
The FTA clarified that filing tax returns and making payments do not need to occur simultaneously. Businesses are encouraged to seek assistance from registered corporate tax agents listed on the FTA website to ensure compliance.
Key information required in returns includes the tax period, company details, Tax Registration Number (TRN), accounting standards applied, taxable income, losses claimed, tax credits, and corporate tax payable. The FTA reaffirms the importance of adhering to Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 and its associated regulations to ensure smooth adoption of the UAE’s corporate tax framework across all business sizes.
