Miles Critchley-Hope, a postgraduate student at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, has created a remarkable series of photographic collages that delve into the lives of rare desert species. His work, titled “Symbiosis,” highlights the intricate relationships between animals like the Arabian gazelle, black fat-tailed scorpion, and spiny-tailed lizard.
Growing up in Somerset, UK, Miles developed a deep respect for nature, which he carried with him to the UAE in 2024. His art combines his background in photography with his studies in environmental engineering and law, resulting in pieces that are both scientifically informed and artistically compelling.
The “Symbiosis” series is set to be displayed at the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi, offering a unique perspective on the UAE’s desert wildlife. Through his work, Miles invites viewers to appreciate the beauty and complexity of these often-overlooked creatures.
