The guide establishes a clear regulatory framework to ensure academic honesty and equal opportunity across public and private schools nationwide.
Students, teachers, and parents share responsibility for upholding fairness, honesty, and accountability during exams. Schools must run awareness programs teaching expected behaviour and consequences of violations before exams commence.
Penalties for students caught cheating include:
Deduction of 12 points from their conduct record
Assignment of zero grade in the subject where cheating occurred
Exclusion of the paper from grading if answer sheets are deliberately damaged
Mandatory enrolment in behavioural rehabilitation programs
Prohibited exam misconduct covers use of mobile/electronic devices, sharing questions on social media, photographing papers, aiding others, signaling, influencing invigilators, and unauthorized exit from exam halls.
Importantly, staff members involved in cheating or compromising exam integrity face fines up to Dh200,000 and administrative penalties, with serious cases referred for further disciplinary action.
Random inspections will ensure strict adherence to these measures to maintain a fair and secure examination environment.
