Dubai Municipality has issued a strong warning to residents and business owners to be cautious of individuals impersonating municipal inspectors and officials. The alert follows reports of people posing as employees to gain access to private properties and commercial establishments across the emirate.

The authority stressed that all its legitimate field employees carry official identification cards featuring the Dubai Municipality logo, employee name, photograph, and job title. Residents are urged to always ask for and verify these details before allowing anyone to enter their premises.

Officials noted that fake employees in Dubai often approach residents under the pretext of conducting inspections, checking hygiene standards, or collecting service fees. These impersonators may use counterfeit uniforms or badges to appear authentic, particularly when targeting small businesses, food outlets, and residential communities.

Dubai Municipality reaffirmed that its inspectors never demand cash payments or request sensitive personal information during field visits. Any such behavior is a clear indicator of fraud. The authority urged members of the public to immediately report suspicious activity through the municipality’s official call center at 800900 or via the Dubai Municipality smart app.

The warning is part of an ongoing effort to protect the public from scams and fraudulent activities. The municipality continues to coordinate with Dubai Police and other government departments to track and penalize individuals involved in such misconduct.

Residents are reminded that the city’s municipal teams conduct inspections only within official work hours and that their visits are typically pre-scheduled or follow specific complaints. Dubai Municipality also highlighted that digital verification tools are being integrated to help citizens confirm the authenticity of visiting inspectors in real time.

By remaining vigilant and confirming credentials, residents can help curb the spread of fake employees in Dubai and ensure the safety of their homes and workplaces. The authority emphasized that public cooperation is crucial in maintaining the city’s reputation for transparency, safety, and trustworthiness.
