Etihad Airways new global routes showcase the UAE’s national carrier’s ambitious expansion as it adds four fresh international destinations within a single week, underscoring its rapid growth and enhanced service capabilities. The airline now flies to Krabi (Thailand), Medan (Sumatra, Indonesia), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), with all inaugural flights sold out, reflecting strong demand and growing passenger confidence.
This milestone is part of Etihad’s broader growth trajectory, with 31 new destinations announced over the past 12 months. Additional routes launching in the coming year include Kabul, Damascus, Palma de Mallorca, and Zanzibar, pointing to the airline’s expanding footprint across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the significance of this expansion: “Bringing four vibrant new cities onto our global map in one week is a clear demonstration of our vision in action. We are here to connect people, cultures, and economies, making Etihad more agile and accessible.”
Fueling this rapid network growth is the introduction of the modern and fuel-efficient Airbus A321LR, optimized for medium-haul routes and emerging markets. Etihad’s new Southeast Asian flights are operated by this aircraft, which features Etihad’s first-ever narrowbody First Suites with premium comforts generally reserved for long-haul flights, alongside personalized luxury services.
