Jebel Sifah International Fishing Championship 2025 once again shined as the Gulf’s premier fishing event, hosting 22 elite teams across 10 countries at the scenic Orascom development in Oman. In a thrilling contest under the supervision of the Oman Maritime Sports Committee and the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA), Egypt’s Team Brouq claimed the championship title.
Egyptian angler Ahmed Nabil secured the prestigious Top Angler Award with a magnificent Blue Marlin, while Italy’s Circolo Pesca Daltura Catania and Thailand’s Reel Addict team claimed runner-up and third places respectively. Turkish angler Karim Sadiq earned the Biggest Fish Award for a 36.65 kg Yellowfin Tuna.
The event marked a historic first with the debut of an all-women’s team, underscoring the growing inclusivity in sportfishing. The top three teams—Egypt, Italy, and Kuwait—qualified for the prestigious Fishing World Cup in Costa Rica, representing the region on the global stage.
Jebel Sifah, nestled by the Al Hajar Mountains and the Sea of Oman, blends natural beauty with luxury amenities, including ocean-view golf, marinas, and boutique hotels, making it a world-class destination for sporting and leisure activities. This championship bolsters Oman’s rising reputation as a global marine tourism and sportfishing hub.
