Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum witnessed pivotal MoU signings during the Asia-Pacific Cities Summit 2025 at Expo City Dubai, advancing Dubai’s global leadership in sustainable and human-centred urban development. Among the key agreements, Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of Dubai’s Executive Council, signed a bilateral MoU with Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, to foster collaboration on infrastructure, transport, urban resilience, and digital technologies.
Another notable agreement was signed between Al Basti and Adrian Schrinner, Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Australia, targeting strengthened cooperation in urban governance, tourism, event hosting, business tourism, talent attraction, and raising quality of life for citizens.
The Asia-Pacific Cities Summit running 27-29 October convened leaders from over 350 cities globally, encouraging government and private sector collaboration on urban innovation. The 2023 edition alone generated Dh5.6 billion worth of business opportunities, reflecting the event’s significant role in shaping future-ready cities worldwide.
