The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced a temporary Sharjah weekend road closure to facilitate ongoing development and infrastructure upgrades. The closure affects Mosque Road and the distributor road at Al Badee intersection, heading towards Dubai along Emirates Road.
The closure will commence at 9:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and last until 5:00 am on Monday, February 23, 2026. During this period, traffic will be diverted via Al Houshi Bridge on Mleiha Road heading west.
Authorities urge motorists to follow temporary traffic signs, use alternative routes, and allow extra travel time, especially during peak evening hours. The upgrade aims to improve traffic flow and road safety in the long run.
